Over 200 adults and children benefited from a comprehensive Community Health, Nutrition, and Screening Outreach Program conducted in Tepatan Community, Abati Alara Ward, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The outreach was organized by MPH Fieldwork Practicum Group 5, Department of Public Health, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin (2024/2025 Set), as part of efforts to improve access to health information, preventive healthcare services, and nutrition support at the community level.

The program featured health education sessions on personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, nutrition, malaria prevention, and healthy living. Free screening services were also provided, including blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, malaria testing, blood glucose screening, HIV counseling and screening, and Hepatitis B and C screening.

In addition, fortified nutritional meals were distributed to children to promote healthy growth and nutrition among vulnerable groups within the community.

Participants identified with health concerns received counseling and appropriate referrals for further medical evaluation and treatment.

Speaking after the outreach, the Group Leader, Bamidele Abdulwarith Ayomide, emphasized the importance of community-based interventions in strengthening preventive healthcare and improving population health outcomes.

The team appreciated the support and collaboration received from Society for Family Health (SFH), MaxiHealth Multispecialist Hospital, Omomeji Ashabi, AMR Club KWASU, Phoebe Heart Foundation, community leaders, healthcare personnel, and volunteers whose contributions made the outreach successful.

This outreach demonstrates the power of partnership and community engagement in advancing public health and improving the well-being of vulnerable populations.
